Wagoner County man convicted on eight counts of child sexual abuse

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Wagoner County man was convicted of child sexual abuse.


Richard Leroy Osborn III, 47, was found guilty of five counts of aggravated sexual abuse and three counts of abusive sexual contact. Two of the counts carry a mandatory sentence of life in prison.


Charges against Osborn arose after a probe by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.


According to reports, Osborn sexually assaulted three children from 2011 until 2022. Osborn was already a registered sex offender at the time of the crimes, as he had previously sexually abused three other children.


Honorable Judge Kea W. Riggs presided over the trial and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. Osborn will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.


Assistant United States Attorneys Morgan Muzljakovich and Nicole Paladino prosecuted the case.
