Tahlequah man sentenced for second-degree murder
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Tahlequah man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 2023 murder of a Stilwell resident.
According to reports, on Feb. 7, 2023, Timothy Randall England, 36, shot and killed the victim with an assault rifle. England fled the scene and was later apprehended by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service in Tahlequah.
Charges against England arose after a probe by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
England pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder in Indian Country on April 30, 2024.
Honorable Judge Raul M. Arias-Marxuach presided over the hearing and England will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence.
Assistant United States Attorney Kevin Gross prosecuted the case.
