Tahlequah man sentenced for federal assault charge
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Tahlequah man was sentenced for a felony assault charge in Indian Country.
Tristan Hunter Finch, 27, was sentenced to time served and three years of supervised release for one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm.
Charges against Finch arose after a probe by the Muskogee Police Department and the United States Marshals Service.
On Sept. 5, 2023, Finch said he threatened the victim while holding a knife. He pleaded guilty to the charges in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma Feb. 20, 2024.
Honorable Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing and Assistant United States Attorney Michael E. Robinson prosecuted the case.
