Tahlequah man pleads guilty to child sexual exploitation
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Tahlequah man pleaded guilty to one count of attempted receipt of certain material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.
Charges against Anthony James Deason, 29, arose after a probe by the Tahlequah Police Department and Homeland Security Investigation.
According to reports, Deason attempted to use a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing and transmitting a visual depiction of such conduct in interstate commerce via the internet.
Honorable Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. Deason will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
Assistant United States Attorney Caila M. Cleary prosecuted the case.
