A man was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm after he allegedly admitted to firing a weapon during a dispute.

On April 14, Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Cohen responded to West 806 Road for reports of threats being made. William Johnson, 76, accused a woman of having problems with people, and shooting at his dog. He went on to say that the woman's dog comes into his yard all the time, and he never shoots at the dog. Cohen spoke with the woman, who was reportedly visibly shaking and crying. She claimed Johnson threatened to kill her and her dog. She said the man ran at her, and fired a gun while yelling he was going to shoot her. Johnson denied making threats, but admitted to firing a shotgun and cussing at the woman. Johnson claimed the woman also fired from what shounded like a shotgun. The woman said she fired shots from a pellet gun into the air because Johnson's dog is "too little to shoot at." Johnson was arrested and booked for reckless discharge of a firearm.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy Jaxon Thomlinson was dispatched to U.S. Highway 62 and Stanley Lane April 11 due to reports of a man who was unresponsive in a vehice, at a car wash. Deputies arrived and knocked on the vehicle windows several times before Jacob Bryan Scott Lynn, 42, finally awoke. Thomlinson said Lynn appeared confused and the man said he was taking a nap. Deputies asked Lynn if he consumed alochol and he claimed he hadn't. Lynn gave deputies consent to search his vehicle. They found two closed alcohol containers, a digital scale, and two clear baggies with a white residue. Lynn was arrested and booked for driving under the influence, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Seth Morgan was called to reports of an assault on South Ginger Drive April 13. The deputy met with a man who accused Kayla Adair, 32, of breaking three windows in his house due to him not being able to give her money for another individual. Morgan drove the area, trying to find Adair, and spotted her. She allegedly denied breaking any windows. Dispatch advised that Adair had warrants. A woman told Morgan she was giving the man a ride home when she observed Adair lying in the middle of the road. The woman said the man told her he didn't want Adair there since she allegedly broke out his windows. The woman said she approached Adair, who reportedly became "mouthy" and admitted to breaking the windows. She said Adair wiped blood on her shirt and shoved her. EMS checked out Adair's injuries before she was booked for assault and battery, malicious injury to personal property, and public intoxication.
