A man was arrested for several offenses after he reportedly resisted deputies and made threats.

On March 22, Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy Seth Morgan was dispatched to South 460 Road due to reports of a man who was allegedly threatening people with a baseball bat and a 2x4 piece of lumber. Morgan arrived to find a woman who appeared to be in distress. He was approaching the woman when Christopher Crum began walking out of a garage. Morgan said the man seemed to be irate. Crum was told to turn around and put his hand behind his back, but the man reportedly said he was on is property and began to back into the garage. Morgan could see a baseball bat behind Crum and went in to detain him. Crum pulled away and struggled ensued. Crum injured his hand during the scuffle and was placed in handcuffs. Deputies said they determined that there was no physical altercation between Crum and the woman. Both individuals were intoxicated and there was an argument between to the two of them. The woman had left the residence and that's when Crum supposedly began threatening others with the baseball bat. Crum was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and booked for assault and battery on a police officer, threaten to perform act of violence, obstruction, and resisting arrest.

Deputy Justin Richardson was patrolling the area of State Highway 82 and North Lost City Road March 21 when he was dispatched to reports of an assault on East 630 Road. Dispatch advised the caller stated a man was on her property and assaulted her husband. She added they had the suspected man held down. Richardson arrived to find two men holding onto Austin Jerry Cordis, who appeared to be intoxicated. The couple said they didn't want to press charges and Cordis was arrested for public intoxication. Richardson said Cordis vomited on himself while he was transported to jail. Cordis was then taken to Northeastern Health System after he wouldn't verbally respond to the deputy. Richardson said Cordis began cursing at him, a nurse, and security officers while at the hospital. Cordis was taken to jail and booked for public drunkenness.

On March 20, Deputy Robert Stephens was called to Diedrick Lane for reports of a domestic incident. Dispatch advised that a man, Rhett Welch, left the residence. Before Stephens arrived, he was informed that Deputy Chris Taylor was on contact with Welch on Cedar Avenue. Deputies noted that Welch had scratches on his neck and face. Welch had a warrant through Cherokee Nation and was placed in the back of Stephens' patrol unit. Deputies went to the residence and met with a woman who had a bloody nose, bruising to her face, and an injured arm. The woman said Welch assaulted her and she was able to get away and call for help. Welch was arrested and booked for domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor and his warrant.
