Sheriff's Reports 2-27-25: Woman asks to speak with FBI, Trump to report man

A woman was arrested after she kept calling 911 to allegedly report a man, who she claimed was part of the Taliban.

On Feb. 18, Cheorkee County Sheriff's Lt. Tanner Hendley was informed of an incident on North 410 Road after a man accused Stephany Leigh Bird of striking him. Dispatch advised that Bird called 911 multiple times, asking to speak with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and President Donald Trump. Hendley spoke with Bird on the phone and suggested that she and the man separate for the night as he believed Bird was possibly under the infleunce of something. Dispatch called a few minutes later and stated they received another call from the man, asking for deputies to respond. Hendley said it was 9 degrees outside and snowing, so it took him longer to get to the residence. Dispatch received another call from Bird saying that if deputies arrived, she'd allegedly fight them. Hendley arrived and said Bird appeared frantic and would not sit still. The man wanted to deputies to take Bird to the hospital for a mental health evaluation, but she refused to go. According to Hendley's report, Bird reportedly said she kept calling 911 because the man was a Taliban and she wanted to speak with the FBI and the president. Hendley told Bird she could either go to the hospital or to jail. He said that's when Bird abruptly took off her underwear and sat down on a toilet. She quickly got back up and said she wasn't going anywhere. Bird reportedly resisted deputies when they were arresting her. Bird was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and booked for resisting arrest and misuse of 911.

Deputy Jaxon Thomlinson was patrolling the area of South Muskogee Avenue Feb. 16 when he noticed a defective headlight on a vehicle that was passing him. He initated a traffic stop and pulled the vehicle over. The driver, Jose Perez, was said to have "glassy and droopy eyes" and said he and his passenger were coming from a comedy show in Tulsa. Perez had an odor of alcohol coming from his person and admitted to consuming two or three beers. Perez was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a field sobriety test.

On Feb. 21, Deputy Carl Smith observed a vehicle go left of center, into the oncoming lane on West Allen Road. Smith conducted a traffic stop and met with the driver, Alejandro Jesus Rodreguez-Garcia, who allegedly said his name was Jose. Garcia was arrested and booked for operating a motor vehicle without being licensed and driving left of center.

Deputy Jimmie Robertson was stopped at the intersection of State Highway 82 and East Downing Street Feb. 16 when he observed a vehicle fail to maintain its lane while turning on to State Highway 51. The deputy followed behind the vehicle and could see it jerk erratically into his lane before nearly striking another vehicle. Robertson conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Brandon Keen, who said he didn't have a driver's license on him. The deputy could see what appeared to be marijuana in the vehicle. Dispatch advised that Keen's license was revoked and Robertson detained the man so he could search the vehicle. The marijuana and a glass pipe were retreived from the vehicle and Keen said those didn't belong to him. Robertson said there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from Keen, but the man claimed he consumed two beers. Keen was arrested after a field sobriety test and booked for driving under the infleunce, driving under revocation, and failing to maintain lane.

These are arrests, not convictions.
