On Feb. 8, Deputy Austin Carver was patrolling the area of State Highway 82 and Murrell Home Road when he observed a vehicle with a defective taillight. The deputy got behind the truck and could see the vehicle swaying back and forth on the road. Carver conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Jay Ward, and Candace Goddin. Dispatch advised that Goddin had a no bond warrant and she was arrested. Goddin told the deputy she had methamphetamine in her bra. She also reportedly told Carver that Ward had been drinking. Ward was arrested after a field sobriety test and booked for public intoxication. Goddin was booked for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Deputy Jimmie Robertson was dispatched to South Ginger Drive Feb. 7 for reports of an assault, wherein the victim accused Joshua Keith Mouse of punching her in the face. Robertson spoke with the victim, who had a marking on her face. She claimed her phone was stolen and Google showed the phone to be at a residence on South Ginger Drive. She said she went to the residence and met with the homeowner, who allegedly said the phone was there but he didn't have it. The woman said she confronted Mouse about having her phone and he struck the homeowner in the face, and then her. Robertson spoke with the homeowner, who initially claimed it was the woman who struck him in the face. He then admitted it was Mouse who assaulted him, but said he didn't want to press charges. Mouse was arrested inside the residence and allegedly said the woman receieved the marking to her face because she was intoxicated and fell. Mouse was transported to jail and booked for assault and battery.

These are arrests, not convictions.
