Sheriff's Reports 2-11-25: Woman jailed after alleged dispute involving firearm
Deputies were called after an alleged dispute in which a woman was accused of brandishing a firearm.
On Jan. 28, Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Cohen was dispatched to reports of a suicide attempt on 516 Road. A man said he and Renee O'Bosky got into an arguement and he stepped outside. He said he heard screaming coming from the residence, allegeding that O'Bosky had a firearm. Two family members, one being a minor, said they were able to get the firearm away from the woman. Cohen spoke with the two family members and was told O'Bosky shoved one of them into a doorknob and broke a mirror as they struggle to get the firearm away from O'Bosky. O'Bosky was arrested and booked for domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.
Sgt. Nick Chute was assisting the Tahlequah Police Department in the area of Water Avenue Jan. 31 for a shots fired call at Dewain's Place. Chute observed a man running and staggering in the road, and identified him as Russell Barnes. TPD responded and advised Barnes matched the description of one of the individuals who was involved in the incident. However, Chute said Barnes didn't have a firearm on his person. Barnes was arrested and booked for public intoxication.
On Feb. 1, Deputy Jaxon Thomlinson was dispatched to reports of a trespassing on Black Valley Road. Dispatch advised that Samantha Jones was possibly intoxicated and allegedly trespassing on the property, throwing rocks, and threatening people with a knife. Thomlinson made contact with Jones, who had an odor of alcohol coming from her person. Jones said she consumed alcohol and she and another woman got into a physical altercation. Thomlinson spoke with the victim, who accused Jones of choking her during the altercation. The victim had a mark on her neck and Jones was arrested for assault and battery by strangulation.
Deputy Seth Morgan was assisting Deputy Austin Carver on a traffic stop Feb. 1 when he was asked to obtain the driver's information. The deputy advised the driver that he was unable to locate a driver's license by the number she provided. The passenger, Traci Ketcher, allegedly claimed her name was Dana and gave Morgan a date of birth. Morgan looked up the passenger's information and noticed the photo on the driver's license was not of the woman in the vehicle. Plus, the date of birth on the license was different than what Ketcher said it was. Morgan confronted Ketcher with the driver's license photo and she reportedly claimed it was her, but she had "stomach surgery." Ketcher fessed up and said the name she gave was a family member's and she lied because she allegedly knew she had warrants. Ketcher was transported to jail and booked for falsely personates another.
On Feb. 3, Deputy Robert Stephens was dispatched to South Keeler Drive for a noise complaint. Dispatch advised that Rebecca Yount was outside, screaming. Stephens made contact with Yount, who he said had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person. Yount was arrested and booked for public intoxication.
These are arrests, not convictions.
