Sheriff's Reports 11-20-24: Man accused of stabbing father
Deputies searched for a man for several hours after he was accused of stabbing his father.
On Nov. 2, Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy Cassondra Truett was dispatched to a residence on West Fox Street due to reports of a stabbing. The deputy arrived and noticed a blood trail, leading into the residence. A woman who was standing in a "large puddle of blood" claimed two unknown men asked if they could park their broken down truck in the yard to fix it. She asked one of the men if they could air up one of the tires to her lawn mower and went to get a cord. She said Jimmy Sequichie Sr. began airing up the tire when Jimmy Sequichie Jr. came up from behind with a knife and began stabbing the man. Sequichie Sr. was taken to the hospital and deputies were advised that Sequichie Jr. was driving a purple Chevy Tahoe. Dispatch advised that the suspect was trying to speak with a family member at Garden Walk apartments. Deputy Jonah Billy then advised that the suspected vehicle was on East Downing Street and all units responded. Sequichie Jr. was spotted at Casey's General Store. The man was reportedly holding a knife to his neck and yelling, "Fu**ing kill me." He refused to listen to commands to drop the knife and was struck in the abdomen by a beanbag round. The man was taken into custody and taken to W.W. Hastings Hospital to be evaluated. Sequichie Jr. was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and booked for domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon after former conviction of a felony, public intoxication, and obstruction. Sequichie Sr. sustained injuries to his neck and was discharged from the hospital.
Deputy Jimmie Robertson responded to Park Hill Road Nov. 1 after reports of a man being accused of trying to break into a house with a baseball bat and golf club. The deputy could see Hunter James Smith sitting on the porch steps. Smith appeared intoxicated and wouldn't answer the deputy's questions. Smith was arrested for public intoxication and obstruction.
On Nov. 1, Deputy Robertson was called to Grandview Road to investigate an incident involving a possible intoxicated man. A woman said a pedestrian was stumbling down the road and slapped her vehicle when she slowed down to pass him. The deputy drove around in the area and could see Boseaphus Wing hugging a tree. The man appeared intoxicated and Robertson could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his person. Wing reportedly refused to answer the deputy's questions and stated he wanted a Cherokee Nation Marshal deputy. Wing was arrested for obstruction and public intoxication.
Deputy Jaxon Thomlinson responded to South Welling Road Nov. 10 to assist Deputy Justin Richardson with a traffic stop wherein the odor of alcohol was coming from the vehicle. The driver, Bryan Womack, said he consumed a beer six hours before the traffic stop. After a field sobriety test, Womack was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and a warrant.
These are arrests, not convictions.
