Police Reports 8-8-24: Woman reportedly steals vehicle, booked for DUI
Officers said a woman was allegedly high on drugs when she took a vehicle without permission.
On Aug. 5, Tahlequah Police Lt. Matt Frits was dispatched to reports of a stolen red Chevy Blazer. Dispatch advised that a woman stole the vehicle from a residence on Jay Lane. Frits observed that vehicle in the area of the Bertha Parker Bypass and East Fourth Street when he initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle turned onto Turney Avenue and the driver, Courtney Reichard, pulled over. Frits and Officer Qua'shon Leathers performed a felony stop with their firearms drawn. They ordered Reichard to exit the vehicle and she was taken into custody. Frits said the woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs at the time of her arrest. The vehicle owner said she allowed another woman to drive the Blazer, but not Reichard. Reichard claimed she was given permission to drive the vehicle and admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that day. She also said she takes prescription medication. Reichard was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and booked for driving under the influence and grand larceny.
Officer Zach Adams responded to Wisdom Keepers Aug. 5 to conduct a welfare check on a woman after she was unreachable most of the day. Officers entered the apartment and found the woman dead on the floor. A woman said she last saw her friend Aug. 1 and spoke with her Aug. 4. The Medical Examiner waived custody of the body and Green Country Funeral Home transported her to the funeral home.
On July 30, Officer Dylan Harman was dispatched to a road rage incident in the area of South Muskogee Avenue and Balentine Road. Dispatch advised that the victim was following the suspected vehicle, a white Chevy Impala. Harman observed the vehicle on the Bertha Parker Bypass and conducted a traffic stop on North Cedar Avenue. The driver said it was the other driver who almost caused a crash and he "cussed" him out. Officer Brad Baker spoke with the other driver and told Harman a firearm was possibly brandished during the incident. The driver, a passenger, and Mikayla Mouse were detained. Dispatch advised that Mouse had an outstanding warrant and she was transported to jail. The driver gave officers permission to search his vehicle. They found no firearm or firearm accessories during the search. The other driver said he never physically saw a firearm but he heard what sounded like a gunshot during the road rage incident.
Lt. Bryan Qualls was called to South Muskogee Avenue July 30 where the new Braum's was being to constructed. Bruce Wright, the site manager, said several items were missing from inside the structure. he said panels and pipe were missing, and there was damage to the sandstone rock.
On July 30, Sgt. Lane Cobb responded to Pamela Street and met with a woman who accused a man of harassing her. The woman said the man used to live on the property but was evicted. She said he calls her names and yells at her when she goes outside. The property manager told Cobb that the man no longer lived there but he stays at an apartment nearby. Cobb went to make contact with the man but he was not there.
