Police Reports 1-23-25: Several arrested for public drunkenness

A man was arrested after officers were called to a local business due to him being passed out in a vehicle.


On Jan. 9, Tahlequah Police Officer Reed Felts was dispatched to Casey's General Store on East Downing Street to conduct a welfare check on a man who was reportedly passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers Bryan Swim and Ohavyah Soto were on scene and speaking with the man, who was identified as Gary Wayne Summers. Felts said the man had slurry speech and appeared unsteady on his feet. The officer also said Summers told Soto he had taken a prescription medication earlier in the day and he suffers from low blood sugar. Felts called for EMS to come check Summer's blood sugar levels and Soto gave him a doughnut to eat while they waited for EMS. EMS personnel advised Summer's levels were normal and Felts said it was apparent the man was under the influence. Summers declinded to take part of a field sobriety test and he was arrested. Felts said a partially smoked hand-rolled cigarette that had marijuana was found in Summers' pocket was found. Summers was booked for public intoxication and possession of marijuana without a valid prescription card.


On Jan. 6, officers were dispatched to Dollar General, near Reasor's, due to an intoxicated man. Rocky Chippewa was arrested for public intoxication and booked. On Jan. 7, Lt. Matt Frits when called to Buffalo Wild Wings after Chippewa was allegedly disturbing staff members. He was arrested a second time for public drunkenness and booked.


On Jan. 1, officers responded to Ned's due to reports of a fight that was in progress. Staff members advised that Carman Sierra was the aggressor and was outside the business. Officers were arresting Sierra for public intoxication when she allegedly resisted and spit in an officer's face, twice. Sierra was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and booked for public drunkenness, resisting arrest, and transfer of bodily fluids on a government official.


Sgt. Robbie Bacon was dispatched to South Cedar Place Jan. 1 for a man who was reportedly intoxicated and walking toward Greenwood Elementary school. Robert Holt was found lying on the ground near the intersection of East Ross Street and South Cedar Place. Holt was arrested and booked for public intoxication.


On Jan. 1, Officer Jess McClure responded to Walmart for a man who was allegedly trespassing. Employees said Jefferson Bowman was banned from the store and he was inside. Bowman arrested and booked for trespassing after being forbidden.


Justin Swake was arrested Jan. 3 for petit larceny at the Walmart gas station.


Offices responded to reports of a fight call at Dewain's Place Jan. 3 wherein Kyle Pritchett was arrested for public intoxication.


On Jan. 4, Lt. Matt Frits was called to East Fuller Street due to a man who was acting suspicious by flipping off a neighbor and staring at the caller's children. Michael Wyers was arrested for public intoxication and possession of marijuana, and booked.


Jessica Matlock was arrested after officers were called to At the Y Liquor Jan. 4 for reports of a theft. She was located the next day and booked for driving while revoked and petit larceny.


Lt. Elden Graves was dispatched to the roundabout Jan. 5 for a non-injury vehicle crash. Ronnie Coles advised he struck a sign and was heading home. Coles was arrested after Graves deemed him to be under the influence.


On Jan. 5, Officer Caleb Murray was called to West Choctaw Street for reports of an intoxicated woman. Bliss Gibson was transported to jail and booked for public intoxication.


Officer Zach Adams responded to the Tahlequah City Jail Jan. 5 due to suspicious activity of female inmates in holding. Dispatch advised she observed four women behaving suspiciously in holding.


On Jan. 6, Edward Rogers was arrested for threatening to perform acts of violence toward a physician. Officers reported that Rogers became irate and allegedly stated he would kill the physician next time he saw him.


Officers were called to Casey's General Store Jan. 8 for shoplifting incident wherein the suspect left the store. Employees said two bottles of an alcoholic beverage were taken and provided officers with a discription of the suspect. Dalton Poafpybitty was located and was in possession of the stolen merchandise. Poafpybitty was arrested and booked for larceny of merchandise from a retailer and public intoxication.


Marie Watson was arrested Jan. 6 for littering, driving while suspended, taxes due state, and no insurance.


On Jan. 6, Trey Littledeer was arrested for public intoxication following a disturbance call.


These are arrests, not convictions.
