Park Hill man sentenced for felony drug crime
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Park Hill man was sentenced to 2.7 years in prison for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
On Jan. 27, 2024, Jack Dewayne Neugin AKA Jackie Dewayne Neugin, 56, was being booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center when detention officers discovered over 27 grams of meth in his possession. Neugin pleaded guilty to the charge Sept. 5, 2024.
Charges against Neugin arose after a probe by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Honorable Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing and Neugin will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending transportation to a designated U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence.
Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly prosecuted the case.
