Park Hill man pleads guilty to illegally possessing firearm, ammunition
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Park Hill man pleaded guilty to one count of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
On July 29, 2024, Kenny Ray Jackson, 65, knowingly possessed one .22 caliber, semi-automatic rifle, one .30-.30 caliber, lever action rifle, and one 12-gauge, break open shotgun, together with 54 rounds of assorted caliber ammunition after he was previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
Charges against Jackson arose after a probe by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Honorable Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan Soverly prosecuted the case.
