OHP: Wagoner man killed in head-on crash with dump truck

A 63-year-old man was killed Thursday evening after crashing head-on with a dump truck 1 mile west of Tahlequah.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Ricky W. Kerr was westbound on State Highway 51 in a 2011 Dodge Journey, and the driver of the 2000 freightliner was eastbound.

At around 7:30 p.m., Kerr entered the eastbound lane and the two vehicles impacted. Kerr was pronounced dead on the scene by Cherokee Nation EMS. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The cause of the crash and Kerr's condition at the time are under investigation.
