OHP: Tulsa man purportedly drowns in Fort Gibson Lake

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said it appears that a 70-year-old man may have suffered a medical incident that lead to the drowning at Taylor's Ferry Beach Friday afternoon.


According to reports, Pedro Ramirez-Anaya and his wife were swimming at the Taylor's Ferry when she noticed him make an "odd" look on his face. She told authorities Ramirez-Anaya made a motion around his chest before he went unconscious and under the water.


"The victim's wife attempted to hold the victim up above the water. Two passerby's on vessels stated they saw the victim and his wife floating in the water and [they] assisted," the OHP report stated.


The Taylor's Ferry Fire Department launched their vessel and recovered the couple. Ramirez-Anaya's body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Tulsa.
