OHP: Mayes County fatal crash under investigation

A Locust Grove man was killed in a three-vehicle crash that occurred one mile north of Peggs just before 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Kevin Vaughn, 65, was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima on State Highway 82, and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. Brian Ridenour, 58, of Tahlequah, was driving a 2022 Kenworth T680 and not injured.

Terris Howard, 30 of Welling, was driving a Nissan Pathfinder and transported to St. John's Hospital in Tulsa where she was admitted in stable condition with head injuries. Samantha Cochran, 37, of Hulbert, was admitted in stable condition.

According to the OHP, the crash is under investigation. Seatbelts were in use by Ridenour, Howard, and Cochran.
