OHP: Fatal crash under investigation

A Locust Grove man was killed in vehicle v. motorcycle crash near Leach Thursday evening.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, James Winkler, 29, was operating a 2007 Honda CTX motorcycle on U.S. Highway 412, north of East 560 Road when the crash occurred. Winkler was pronounced dead on scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of a 2020 Jeep Cherokee, Andrea Overholser, 29, of Rose, was transported to W.W. Hastings Hospital and treated and released with trunk external injuries. Overholser was listed in good condition.

According to the OHP, Winkler was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
