Culver introduces legislative assistant
OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Bob Ed Culver, R-Tahlequah, is introducing his legislative assistant, Monica King.
Monica is a lifelong Oklahoman who currently lives in Edmond with her husband of 24 years. They have two children, a daughter attending law school at Culver's alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, and a son attending Oklahoma State University.
"Monica says she's been so busy raising her children and working full-time, she doesn't have time for many hobbies. Those no doubt will come after her kids get out of college and fully out on their own," Culver said.
Monica has been working at the House of Representatives since September 2023 and recently accepted the job as Culver's legislative assistant. He said he's thrilled to have her.
"She's already gotten calls from many of my constituents. She said one of her favorite callers was my ninth-grade English teacher who called to ask for my help in resolving an issue she had with a state agency. Monica was able to assist her and said she got a great kick out of talking to one of my former teachers. She's also talked to people who've known me their whole lives," Culver said.
Monica said she loves hearing from my constituents, and she's always happy to try to help them with whatever they might need.
'She also takes calls from outside my district. Many people like to call every legislator at the Capitol to let them know how they want them to vote on specific legislation. As bills get filed for the upcoming legislative session, these calls will no doubt increase," Culver said. "If you call my Capitol office, just know you'll be greeted with a friendly voice and a person willing to assist you. Make sure to treat her well,"
Anyone needing assistance from Culver are asked to call his Capitol office at 405-557-7408 or email him at bob.culver@okhouse.gov.
