Cherokee County Republican Party to hold 2025 Precinct, County Convention Feb. 27
The Cherokee County Republican Party will hold their 2025 Precinct and County Convention on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at the Tahlequah Armory Municipal Center. All registered Republicans in Cherokee County are encouraged to attend.
Registration for the Precinct Convention will be from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participants need to register with a picture ID (preferably a current Oklahoma driver’s license). Those attending are asked to bring their Cherokee County voting card to speed up the process, but a voting card is not required.
The precinct convention will elect the following officers: chair, vice-vhair, and secretary/treasurer. All seated delegates to the precinct convention will be eligible to attend the county convention that begins 15 minutes after the precinct convention adjourns.
The county convention will elect the following officers: county chair, county vice-chair, 2 delegates to the congressional district meetings, and 2 state committee delegates. The county chair appoints the secretary and treasurer.
Those interested in becoming a Cherokee County delegate or an alternate delegate to the OKGOP 2025 Convention, must attend both the precinct and county conventions.
Resolutions for rules approved by the precinct convention will be presented to the county convention for a vote. If the resolutions for rules pass the county convention, those will be sent to the OKGOP State Convention Rules Committee. The OKGOP Rules Committee decides what resolutions will advance to the floor of the state convention.
The OKGOP 2025 State Convention will be Saturday, May 3, 2025 (tentative) in the OKC Metro Area.
